Background
The concept behind The White was created by Allan Robinson with additional
support from the late Derek Brandwood.
Allan, from Stretford, Manchester, has been a key player in the music industry
for over thirty years. His successes in the business have gained him recognised
credentials, having worked with hundreds of super acts such as David Bowie,
Led Zeppelin and Tina Turner. As partner of Manchester's Influential venue
Electric Circus, he worked alongside a generation of musical pioneers, too
numerous to mention, including: The Sex Pistols, The Jam and The Clash,
Dire Straits, Motorhead, UB40, Madness, Thin Lizzy, AC/DC, Billy Idol,
Ramones, Chaka Khan, V2, Buzzcocks and hundreds more. Allan believes,
"There's an incredible amount of wasted time and money, but most of all,
wasted talent in the music industry..." This is why he founded The White
and he also insists that: "There is a real need to let the music shape the industry,
not us shape the music"
Derek from Denton, Manchester, also has an impressive background as a
leading figure in the promotion of new talent. His extensive knowledge stems
from his position as the Regional Sales and Promotion Representative for
CBS Records UK, the International Promotions Manager for ABC/Dunhill
Records and Regional Promotions Manager for RCA, located in the North
of England.
Artists he has worked with include Bob Dylan, Santana, The Eurythmics,
Simon and Garkfunkel and Dolly Parton.
Derek is also responsible for the making of such stars as Lisa Stansfield and
Russell Watson.
With their impressive history and expertise, The White was an instant success.
